Summary for colleges

From Monday 14 September to Saturday 26 September 2026, ASTI trainers delivered a 2-week placement training program at Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda (Thrissur, Kerala). It ran as two tracks of 60 students each, 120 students in total: Data Analytics, and Data Science with Generative AI. Both tracks combined daily coding classes, hands-on practicals, soft skills, mock interviews and pre-placement training over 12 training days.

This page explains how the program was designed, who taught it and what students gained, for placement officers and heads of department considering similar training.

Why the college chose this program

Companies across sectors use data and AI to make decisions, automate work and build products. Graduates who can collect, clean, analyse and explain data, and who can also communicate well in interviews, stand out in campus placements.

Many students learn the theory in class but get little chance to practise it or to prepare for recruitment rounds. The program put learning, practice and placement preparation into one structured two weeks.

How the two weeks were designed: learn, practise, perform

1. Learn: training and coding classes

Trainers taught the core concepts step by step. Daily coding classes built the logic and problem-solving skills that companies test heavily in technical interviews.

2. Practise: hands-on practical sessions

Students applied each concept to real exercises in practical classes. Doing the work, rather than only listening, helps concepts stay in memory and builds confidence with the tools.

3. Perform: soft skills, mock interviews and pre-placement training

  • Soft skills classes on communication, confidence, body language and professional behaviour.
  • Mock interviews held one to one, followed by feedback on what each student should improve.
  • Pre-placement training on how to approach campus drives and job applications.
